Columbia Metropolitan Airport-Administrative Office Renovation
West Columbia, South Carolina
With the main Columbia Metropolitan Airport Administration offices located half a mile from the main terminal building, it was time for a move! We were able to claim a portion of the existing ticketing area at the main terminal building and convert the space into new administrative offices. The new administration suite includes nine new executive offices, a full break room, work room, and conference space.
Working alongside project management group, Foth Infrastructure & Environment LLC, the remainder of the existing ticketing area was kept in full operation, with no construction activities having a negative impact on daily airport operations. Interior and exterior modifications were made, including the development of details for the removal of the first of several entry vestibules. In future projects, to be done in conjunction with Miller Dunwiddie as part of a long-term Indefinite Delivery Contract, other vestibules will be removed following this standard to increase energy efficiency and pedestrian traffic flow.
The new administration suite will allow the airport administrators to work more efficiently within close proximity to the Airport and other crucial operational divisions.
