Rachel DeBacker, AIA, LEED AP

Architect

Ms. DeBacker and her family recently moved to Columbia from Murfeesboro, Tennessee. She is a registered architect in several states and her love of architecture began as she helped her mother choose their house from stock plans in Southern Living magazine when she was an adolescent. Curiosity
and gumption lead her to the University of Virginia for an undergraduate degree in Architecture and then on to Austin for a Master of Architecture from The University of Texas. She has lived in and practiced architecture in Texas, Georgia, Virginia and most recently, Tennessee. All of these places, as well as travels around the country, Europe and India, have informed her design style and the way she
practices architecture.

Her previous experience includes hotels, schools, and even classified government projects scattered throughout the globe. Ms. DeBacker has a passion for the residential market as well, focusing on both renovations and new builds.

When, she is not designing for “work,” she is trying to keep up with her energetic husband, kids and dog. Her family enjoys being outdoors and traveling to visit family and friends around the country.
